Detention Review

"This drew me in right from the start. You feel like you are in the school with those kids and you want to cry for them and help them. This was an amazing story, and I am looking forward to the next book."

C.D. McKenna

The Ghost Ship Leviathan Review

"The world building was well-developed, the characters relatable in their own right, and the adventure thrilling. There is a dash of horror and humor, which blended so incredibly well with the story that Pat has created. This is the kind of book that can be read in one sitting – I say that because I did it."

Erin M

Detention Review

"I could not put this book down. The short chapters make it really easy to read. The author does a great job of balancing gritty realism without being too graphic. For darker YA novels, this book is at the top of my list!"

Drew N

Mormolyca Review

"Plucking some of the best material the Sci-Fi and Horror genres have to offer, the author has gone to the depths of hell all the way to the cosmos to deliver one of the most riveting novellas I've had the pleasure of plunging into. Welcome Mister Sutphin, you have arrived."

About the Author

Author Pat Sutphin

I discovered a passion for writing at an early age. In the 6th grade, I wrote a third installment of the Lion King franchise that followed Simba as a grandfather. From that moment I was hooked. By my senior year of high school, I had already taken every creative writing course my school had to offer. Instead of moving on to other areas of study, I sat in on the beginner class as a teacher's aide.

I graduated from Southern Illinois University after majoring in journalism and minoring in creative writing. From there I moved to Idaho, where I spent 10 years working in the newspaper industry. But the allure of fiction always called to me. It grew so loud that I couldn't ignore it any longer. So, throwing caution to the wind, I quit my job to pursue the profession I always yearned for.

Within three months I published my first novel, a project I've had on the back burner since my senior year of high school. Two more books are planned for that trilogy, as well as an array of other projects already in the works. In addition to writing, I also work as a professional photographer.
